Who we are

Besides our specific activities - like coachings, job sessions, networking events -, we also offer you the possiblity to post your job and internship offers! Do not hesitate to let your fellow alumni know what kind of job you may offer them.

In addition to this, you also have the possibility, on this website, to upload your resume, and read articles about job research and career development which our career resources benevolent administrators - all active in the sector of human resources - find of interest for you.

If you have any question or request, do never hesitate to contact our office team.

The alumna in charge of our career resources and services is Isabelle Langlois Loris (Solvay Schools Alumni 1990), Partner at Egon Zehnder International.

The objective of the career services team is to help alumni in managing their professional career to reach their professional objectives. Our ambition is to help those considering a career move, but also to help all who are interested to work on their employability and ultimately to improve the leadership and managerial skills of those interested.

The team is made of Solvay alumni who are active in the human resources field, either as professional recruiter ("headhunters") or as HR manager in a company.

Our initial efforts have been focused on career moves, with the job sessionswhich have now been running for a while with increasing success. The objective of those sessions is to help alumni realise the change of career they aspire to.Those sessions cover in a participative way the essential topics of how to prepare an attractive resume and how to prepare for an effective interview, while more specific challenges faced to successfully make a career move are covered on a more personal basis in one-to-one session. A group of professional recruiters share their experiences on the topics and provide advice and guidance to the participants. The evening start with a short presentation on the do's and don'ts of an attractive resume that catches the reader's attention, followed by an overview on how to best get prepared for an effective interview.  After a small Q&A session, each participant has an individual face-to-face discussion with one of the members of the Career Services team to discuss any specific questions regarding their resume, career, aspirations... In order to provide dedicated attention to each participant, the groups are limited to 15 participants. Those sessions are free of charge but exclusively open to our members who have paid their membership fee.

Further more, we have covered the main questions on one's mind when looking for a new professional challenge in various articles which are to be found in the "Practical Tools" section. These give advices on the cv, the interview, the use of the network, what to do when out of a job... Other interesting articles related to managing one's professional career will complete this section as we go.

Last, coaching sessions are also being organised for our alumni around specific themes by various coaches graduated from Solvay. Check our calendar of activities to see of a caochaing session is already scheduled.
