Dear Alumni,
The Space, a new innovation center in Brussels, is inviting you to one
of their upcoming event.
They have some spaces available for their first Pecha Kucha session,
scheduled for Wednesday 23 January from 17h30 to 21h00. They are
inviting digital entrepreneurs to share their ideas on how to apply
emerging technologies to projects for the benefit of EU citizens,
initially in the areas of Smart Cities and Digital Learning.
Pecha Kucha sessions are informal gatherings where presenters convey
inspirational ideas that have the power to transform society. The
presentation format is based on a simple idea: 20 images, each shown
for 20 seconds, for a total presentation length of six minutes and 40
seconds. The images advance automatically, and presenters accompany the
images. This keeps presentations concise, fast-paced and entertaining.
All presenters will be filmed and provided with their individual clips,
and will become part of The Space Talks - their video series of
discussions on emerging technologies and innovation. Selected
presenters will also have the possibility to develop their ideas into
prototypes in their innovation centre, with the full support of The
Space’s mentors. This could take the form of a 4-6 month immersion -
and potentially a rocket start to an entrepreneurial career.
They will also be joined by two speakers. Jens Muller is a policy
expert on smart cities with significant experience as a transport
policy adviser to the European Parliament, and Laurent Hublet (IGS
2006), former adviser on digital affairs to the Belgian government, is
the co-founder of BeCentral, a digital campus in the centre of
Brussels.
