At its origin in 1903, the association was
called "Union des Ingénieurs Commerciaux"
(UIC). The Master of Science in Management was the
only diploma delivered by the Solvay Business School until
1970.
In 1999, the association was extended to all the school's
graduates. It comprised all 3rd cycle graduates, including those
who completed the Executive Education courses offered by the
school. The "Union of the Graduates of Solvay Business School"
(UDECS) was created.
It was renamed "Solvay Business School Alumni"
(SBSA) in June 2004, whith the merger between the
Alumni associations of the Solvay Schools ULB and VUB, the
EMM/CEPAC and the Solvay MBA.
The associaton took the name of Solvay Schools
Alumni in 2009, after the merger between the Solvay
Business School (ULB) and the department of Economics into the new
Faculty Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management
(SBS-EM).
Solvay Schools Alumni currently regroups more than 19.000 alumni,
active in more than 60 countries in all spheres of the economy.
